Creativity - its value & worth in our lives!
My purpose is to help people/clients discover, rediscover and investigate what “being creative is to them.”
For me, it always evolves around words, encouragement and thoughts from my heart. What is it for you? What is that one thing or two that makes you stop the voices in your head - on what you should be doing or you actually carve out a few minutes to do often? How about when you were a kid - I loved to?
A simple story to discover that missing part of your everyday . . . the other night I was making pizza, I was using store bought - dough and tried to recall the steps (from my son) on how long to set the dough out to get it to room temperature, then to let it rise on a floured surface and finally shape into circles. Well, out of 4 pieces I ended up with 1 circle out 4. The other 3 were unique, but not circles. I was talking with my son later on that evening, and said, “dough is so hard to work with -how do you do it?” and he said, without hesitation, “ its an art form!” And, with all things art . . . it starts with a desire, a passion and truly space to create. All those years of ups and downs, challenges and celebrations, love and loss, and all those moments that become a part of our memories. . . they all live deep in our hearts. They are the starting and ending points to our creative selfs.
Which gets me back to being creative everyday. Whether its working with dough, a car engine, paint brushes in hand, your voice preparing for a presentation or . . . every person on this planet desires to be seen, and to create. Minutes a day of doing your “creative” can feel like a shot of espresso, straight to your soul and it makes the blood flow though-out the body.
So, today whether you color a page in a book, doodle a little on a napkin, design a flower with strawberries on your oatmeal, move your decor/furniture around in your bedroom, or tie a scarf in a new way around your neck or wrist, or arrange some branches into a vase, or whatever you see & make, its going to feel wonderful, uplifting and make your heart-full.
